The famous old harbour and the town centre are a short walk to the right whilst Lodmoor Country Park, sea life centre and Bowleaze coveway to the left. Opposite are the Greenhill gardens with two cafes, tennis courts, bowling green and putting green, all of which lead directly onto the esplanade and Greenhill beach. Within a ten mile radius of Weymouth there is so much to see and do. The famous Jurassic Coast with all of its very many attractions, Dorchester, Cerne Abbas with the famous “giant”, and so much more a week will not seem long enough, you will wish to return.

Fossils, Gaffers & Poachers Cottages

Are next to each other and all are in the same grounds. Only their respective garages, the driveway and small car park separate them. We have endeavoured to retain the charm of Fossils cottage and to enhance its surroundings with the two new cottages Gaffers and Poachers.

Upwey is an area of Weymouth that is really pretty and famous for its springs and wishing well which has been visited since 18th century and now has a small water garden and wonderful tearooms. Nearby is the pretty church of St Lawrence with its 15th century font, this is a particularly picturesque area of the village that is just over a miles’ walk from our cottages. There are lovely walks and cycle rides around the village and area along the riverbanks. There are two wonderful pubs both of which serve excellent food and are within walking distance of the cottages, one is called the Riverhouse and the other The Ship, a walk of about quarter of a mile and three quarters of a mile respectively. As our cottages are situated between Weymouth and Dorchester this makes them particularly suitable for those who wish to explore some of the wonderful Dorset countryside. There is a complimentary parking space for each cottage on the seafront in Weymouth at Bay Lodge.
